Ferries to Lampedusa

The ferryboat is probably the most fascinating way to reach the island, arriving from the sea to central Lampedusa's harbour. The journey takes two hours from Mazara del Vallo's or Trapani's harbours, and in less than three hours the Pelagie Islands of Lampedusa and Linosa may be reached with either the Siremar's or Ustica Lines' quick ferry-boats. Tickets may be bought online from both companies' websites, where their schedules may also be consulted.

Lampedusa is located exactly in the middle of the Strait of Sicily, the water channel that separates the biggest Mediterranean island from Africa. Lampedusa is about 70 kilometres away from Kelibia (Kélibia), Tunisia, and 107 from Mazaradel Vallo in Sicily. The sea has always been an important element in its history. The island has alternatively been subjected to the Arabic and Sicilian domains, and has hosted many generations of peaceful and tolerant Christian and Jewish communities that have lived and worked side by side on this fascinating island.
